La Crèche Development Hub

The Creative Curriculum.

This curriculum advocates children learning through exploratory and active play. Our teachers are trained and coached in planning activities and providing opportunities to meet the learning goals appropriate to each child’s developmental level. This curriculum is offered in English & French according to the parents’ preferences.

The Creative Curriculum focuses on 4 main areas of development:

1. Social-Emotional Development
2. Physical Development (gross & fine motor skills)
3. Language Development (expressive & receptive)
4. Cognitive Development (pre- math)

When a child first enters La Crèche Development Hub, he/she is placed in one of 5 classes (according to age):

1. Infants – 3 months to 1 year
2. Toddlers – 1 year to 2 years
3. Juniors – 2 years to 3 years
4. Seniors – 3 years to 4 years
5. Preschoolers – 4 years to 5 years

A developmental assessment is conducted on the child one month after he/she has started attending La Crèche Development Hub® in order to evaluate how he/she is progressing within his/her class. According to the results of that assessment, a meeting is conducted with the parents, and the child may be moved from one class to another. All our classes enjoy a structured schedule that allows for flexibility.

We see meal times as another important learning opportunity here at La Crèche Development Hub.

Your child is encouraged to develop valuable self-help and social skills; collecting and returning their own dishes and cutlery, serving some of their own meals, passing dishes to friends, helping friends, conversing with adults and friends and participating in clean-up routines.

Children are offered a nutritionally balanced breakfast, a hot and healthy lunch, and a snack each day.

Please make sure to inform admissions of allergies or medical needs; specify the food and allergy in order for this information to be added to the allergy list of each class.

Weekly menu will be displayed in the Admission Area or ask for your copy from the Admission Office.
